The proof of the pudding is in the eating – Joint application projects with the university

In the sixth semester of the Business Informatics degree program at the University of Applied Sciences Karlsruhe, the module “Application Projects” is planned. Students get the opportunity to implement a project from the offer to the acceptance in practice. The projects and their requirements are submitted by real companies and are implemented by student teams.

We are very pleased to be contributing the project “Agile Enterprise Mobile Distribution Platform” this semester with the theme of developing a unified solution for delivering mobile apps to Google Android and Apple iOS.

This solution is intended to allow the development of apps to quickly and automatically deploy new software versions. An automated and efficient delivery should especially promote the collaboration with customers in Scrum-Context. After completion of the project, the developed platform will be integrated into our in-house Continuous Delivery Pipeline. After every sprint, a new trial version of the app can be made available to the customer at the push of a button.

The platform will be realised in a scalable micro services architecture with a modern technology stack (Spring 5, Spring Boot 2, Spring Cloud, MongoDB, GitLabCI, etc.). The project is realised with Scrum. The Scrum roles Product Owner, Scrum Master, and Develop Team are staffed by the students.

The project is managed by our very experienced lead developer Iskandar Abudiab. The result is already very exciting.
